Walter R. Suess
Walter R. Suess was a photographer in the U.S. Army Signal Corps in WWI, and later became the chief photographer at Mare Island until his retirement. He was the son of Robert C. Suess, a tire smith who owned a radiator and fender repair shop located in San Jose at the corner of Market and Williams Streets. He had a brother named Vernon.
