Match manufacturing company in San Jose. In 1966, it merged with Superior Match Co., whose parent company, Brown Co., Was taken over in 1967 by Gulf & Western Industries, Inc. Gulf & Western sold Brown Co. to James River Corp. of Virginia in 1979, and the San Jose factory closed for good in 1980.
